Donnelly Centre for Cellular + Biomolecular Research

University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario
What the facility does

Donnelly Centre labs and platforms support technology development and research projects in functional genomics and systems biology.

Areas of expertise

The Donnelly Centre for Cellular + Biomolecular Research is home to the Donnelly Sequencing Centre (DSC).

This sequencing centre is a full-service Illumina CSPro-certified next generation sequencing provider. In operation since 2010, the DSC has provided high-quality sequencing data for hundreds of researchers and has undertaken a number of technology development projects for specialized applications. The facility houses:

1) The GenNet platform in the Andrews/Boone labs, the only laboratory in the world that performs genome-wide screens for genetic interactions in budding yeast analyzed using a robust computational pipeline.
2) The Phenogenomics platform which includes capacity for high through-put image acquisition and analysis using in-house machine learning computational approaches.
