Areas of expertise

The Drinking Water Resource Group incorporates leading-edge research technology to explore novel ways of treating drinking water that are more sustainable, effective, and easier in terms of operations. In particular, the lab offers unique capabilities to explore activated carbon absorption techniques, as advanced oxidation processes.

Activated carbon pilot plant Testing different methods to apply activated carbon for the removal of various contaminants in drinking water
Gas chromatograph Device to measure low concentrations of various contaminants in drinking water
Microbiology module An array of tools to permit the monitoring of various emerging microbial contaminants in drinking water
Zeta potentiometer and particle sizer An instrument to measure the size and electrical charge on particles in water, to evaluate the effectiveness of different treatment technologies
