What the facility does

Mass spectrometry-based analytical services such as impurity characterization and quantification in a wide variety of fields.

Areas of expertise

Personnel with extensive experience in analytical methods development for chromatography and mass spectrometry, and with expertise in a wide variety of fields such as pharmaceutical, environmental, food/nutraceuticals, metabolomics, and low molecular weight polymers. Some clients come to our facility because they are having difficulty solving their problem in-house and need our team's expertise.

High resolution, accurate mass measurement, can be coupled to separation modules.

Agilent 1200 High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) System (2)

Can be coupled to the Agilent 6550 or the Sciex 4000 QTRAP mass spectrometers. Used to separate components in a mixture for identification or quantitation.

Agilent 7100 Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) System

Can be coupled to the Agilent 6550, used to separate components in a mixture for identification or quantitation.

Agilent G1969 Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer (TOF LC/MS)

High resolution, accurate mass measurement.

Waters Micromass Quattro Ultima electrospray ionization (ESI) Mass Spectrometer

Low resolution mass measurement.

Sciex 4000 QTRAP Mass Spectrometer (LC/MS/MS system)

Low resolution mass measurement, can be coupled to separation modules.

Agilent 6890-5973 Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS system) (2)

Used to analyze volatiles and separate components in a mixture for identification or quantitation.

Used as a standalone instrument for quantitative analysis of UV active compounds.
